GETTING AROUND SALINA

With a road network linking the three towns you can explore the island and its best beauties. Arriving in Salina, you will dock in one of two ports of Santa Marina and Rinella. From here you can reach your accommodation, if it is not close to the port, by bus, by taxi or renting a vehicle.

The C.I.T.I.S. (T.090.9844150) offers a good transport service bus that will take you to all the villages on the island (Lingua, Santa Marina, Capo Faro, Malfa, Pollara, Valdichiesa, Leni and Rinella). You can check the timetables on www.salinatrasporti.it or once arrived on the island, you will find them posted at the ports and around the island. Depending on the route, you will have to change in Malfa, where all buses convene. The frequency of service varies depending on time of year. In July and August buses run with a regular frequency from 6 am to 1.30 am. The bus stops are by the square of of each village.

An alternative to the bus is to hire a scooter or a car . This solution will leave you more independent and will make you reach those sites that are not within easy reach.

The third and most expensive option to get around is by taxi.
